NSW Au Pair Jobs Filled

My Au Pair - Australia has placed some great candiates into the homes of our loving Host Families! See some of our happy clients here....

Family - 201502/16  Killara, NSW

***ROLE FILLED***

We are a fun, caring and happy family looking for a non-smoking live-in Au Pair who LOVES kids to help look after our 2 gorgeous boys, William (4) and Joshua (11months). Both boys are adorable and great to be around.

My husband and I (Jason & Victoria) both work in IT, originally from the UK and are now living in Australia permanently.

We have been in Australia for 3.5 years and have just moved into a nice family house with pool, deck and a great garden in the suburb of Killara, which is on the Upper North Shore of Sydney NSW. We are close to public transport with the train taking around 25 minutes to Sydney CBD. A 35-minute drive will get you to Bondi or Manly beaches.

We both work full time in Sydney's CBD and need someone to help with the kids and the household. This would involve getting the little ones ready in the morning, taking and picking William up from Pre-school (Mon-Fri mornings) and taking Joshua to day care a couple of times a week. We would like you to look after the boys outside these times whilst we are at work. This includes trips to the local parks, playgroups and sporting activities. Help with light housework would be appreciated along with preparation of the boys food and some family meals. Additionally we would require the candidate to take care of the children one night per week.

You will have your own room, WIFI, a shared bathroom with the boys plus access to the family car.

My husband and I are on a health and fitness programme so we are looking for a fit/active person who shares those ideals. Someone who also wants to eat healthy food to support us and provide a positive role model for the kids

We like gentle parenting techniques and don't believe in punitive punishment or timeouts. 'Acting out' is a form of communication and it is up to us as parents to identify and help our children resolve the underlying problem rather than simply to punish any perceived bad behaviour. We'd like to find a patient and caring person who also has these values.

We are looking for someone who is flexible and proactive as sometimes our work requirements change.

Finally, we'd love for someone to come and join our family, not to just help with the house and boys....

Must have:

Experience working with two children at a time, one of which being a baby

Police check (Australian)

Non smoker

Drivers licence

We are a young family of 5 consisting of Lee (37yrs), Heidi (32yrs), Chelsea (8 yrs), Sophie (6 yrs) & Iestyn (4 yrs) and are looking for an energetic, flexible, positive Au Pair to join our family.

We have been married for 11 years & are an active, hard-working family. We love swimming, the beach and going to the gym. The 3 kids are all playing football (soccer) this year and are currently involved in nippers, a surf life-saving program for kids.

The home is split level in a very quiet cul-de-sac with large open living areas and multiple decks with bushland views over Pittwater. There are 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a level back yard and expansive kitchen. The large resort style pool & spa is north facing so it is in the sun for most of the day. We are looking for someone who is warm and professional to help with the running of our children's day to day activities and schedules. We have 2 beautiful girls - Sophia (4 years) and Olivia (14 months). Both have a warm and loving nature, well mannered and play very well together.

Olivia is 14 months is home 3 days, and at long day care 2 days. When at home she loves to go on outings close to the house, particularly to the local bakery to get croissants! There are playground and shops close by so this is easy and enjoyable.

Being able to play with Sophia (4 years) is also very important. She loves her sister and includes her in her free play where possible. Sophia is at "school" (daycare) weekdays from 8-4. Both Sophia and Olivia attend day cares within a 5 - 7 minute walk from the house.

Our girls have a great routine, which means that they are extremely active by day and sleep solidly at night. We are looking for someone who can assist us with the girls, particularly food prep, meal times and bath time. We like to do bedtime ourselves when possible and do this most nights. Help with the day to day cleaning after the children is required to include meal times, their toys, washing and keeping their rooms neat and tidy. However we also have a cleaner who comes regularly for more thorough cleaning.

Mum works from home a lot so am able to be with her much of the time too, as well as preparing meals for us all to enjoy. Some light errands may also be required, again these are all close to home and can easily be done when out for a walk with the baby. Dad has longer days, but arranges breakfast and often makes it home for bedtime.

While not essential, a driver's license would be helpful. We are seeking somebody to work 5 days a week (noting 2 days a week both girls are at long daycare - so there is some spare time during the day on those days) with 1 or 2 baby sitting nights also. We are very flexible and with good planning and coordination can arrange the days and times accordingly.

Facilities for Nanny/Au pair include:

Own room (queen bed, with built-ins), own bathroom, tv, separate entrance to house, all meals, access to car (with prior planning) and wifi. We are close to excellent public transport, near great beaches and look forward to welcoming you into our home.

***2nd Year VISA ROLE***
***ROLE FILLED***

Starting End of January 2015 -  $400-$450 (pending experience)

Hello Au Pairs,

We are a family of 4, Atalie and Adam, Hugh (5 and at school) and Lilly (3 ½ and going to pre-school, 3 days a week).

We live on a sheep and wheat farm near Temora – which is roughly half way between Sydney and Melbourne. We are about 1 hour from Wagga Wagga, our nearest big town. For an au pair wanting to stay with us we offer true ‘Australian country-living’, a big old homestead, miles from our nearest neighbour, a really nice guest house (for our au pair) which is very private and comfortable. It has a fully operational kitchen, lounge room and everything else you need to feel at home. We often have kangaroos bouncing across the paddocks and kookaburras that wake you up in the morning.

Our current au pair, Louisa from Germany, is leaving us soon to continue her travels around Australia.

She is very happy to talk to anyone thinking of joining us about her time here. Our place is great for an au pair looking to experience the Australian bush and farm lifestyle. The kids are really easy to take care of have fun with. Hugh likes motorbike riding and swimming, Lilly likes picking flowers and dressing us as Elsa from Frozen! We have cleaners that come each week and so we all we really need is some help

getting the kids in the morning evenings. Adam is away from home with his work 2 or 3 nights a week.

Atalie is a stay at home mum and does some community service work. You will have to be a confident driver, to take the kids to town each day. You will have your own car, including fuel, to use on the weekends. Lousia would often go to Wagga for the weekend, where she would meet up with other German backpackers.

We do a lot of entertaining, especially on weekends, our neigbours come over, we light big fires (in the winter) and cook outside. There are lot of other young people around our area and they will help to make you feel very welcome. There are a range of local sporting clubs, even though we are long way from the city there is plenty to do!

We look forward to hearing from you.

Family - 201504/14, Neutral Bay, NSW

***ROLE FILLED***

Starting - ASAP

30-40 hours per week - $300-$400/week

It is difficult to sum up in a few words what we hope you may be looking for as our Au Pair, but either way you will become an important part of our family and a part of our little “ great adventure” and if that scares you then maybe you are not for us!

If you are for us, then Sam, my beautiful wife and I (Andrew) along with our 17 month old daughter, Jemima our little dynamo (who we affectionately call “crazy pants” among other nick names) will have a lot of fun together . There literally is never a dull moment in our household and we want you to have fun too. But we need your help and we don't mind admitting it. We need to work and rest and still give Jemima every bit of attention she deserves and for 3-4 days per week  (and the occasional hand on the weekend) we just cannot do it on our own.

We have just moved into a big old home, only metres from the harbor foreshore at Neutral Bay in Sydney. Everything literally (the city, the ferry, Kirribilli, Neutral Bay) is a short walk, ride or ferry trip away. We don’t want of anything except someone who has the same gentle, fun, friendly, considerate, capable and pro-active approach to life that we do, to help us with Jemima.

We are looking for a 6-month program and to begin with, our needs require some flexibility, as Sam has her own business.  But this will amount to no more than 3-4 days per week during the week.  We are both busy of course but we both love to cook (with a glass of wine in hand), and appreciate it even more when others love to cook too, not just for us but for fun.

We will have a cleaner from time to time, we like things to be a certain way but well within reason.  You will have ample space and your own room of course with city views. For the first short while we will need you to share amenities.  After that you will have your own fully equipped private unit.

We need you to have a current drivers license and to be careful capable driver.

When it comes to Jemima she is only just now learning to talk so “good” English is important, simple things like no swearing, keeping things safe, clean, being very aware and keeping a smile on your face and a playful and loving approach whenever you are with her are really important to us.

For all this we only expect someone who will respect our home and our need for privacy, just as we will respect yours. We will work out the mutual do’s and don’t’s when we meet you but we want you to enjoy your stay in our family and you’ll have the space and the place to ensure that you do.

PS: by the way we have big friendly and super excitable dog Klaus, who befriends anyone who walks past so no security issues here and 2 tiny pensioner cats that sleep full time – a comfort and confidence with animals would be an advantage.

Hiring NOW

Dear Au pair,

Hello! Our family consists of my husband, Mike, our 9 year old son Evan and our 5 year old son named Ben.

Evan is in 4 grade and Ben started Kindergarten.  They are both very vivacious, tough, funny, curious, active, and independent. They make us laugh consistently. They love to play rugby, cricket, soccer, surf, ski and swim.

The boys get along very well even with their age gap.  They do fight like brothers but we make sure they make up quickly. It is essential that you like being with boys because they are very active and demand attention and can be very LOUD.  They love it when you are physical with them and play or kick a football/soccer ball in the park, go to the beach or pool for a swim.  They will also sit down and be creative but you will have to show them how to do this.

We drop off at school around 8:15 until 3:00 and because of this myself or you will drop him off and/or pick them up depending what is going on for me during the day and their after school activities. You will sometimes have to do homework with them when required. We encourage both the boys to try different activities and will support what they love to do.

As a family, we are all active and very social with friends and family.  Mike and I like staying fit and will tag team time so both of us can fit this in.  Most weekends we will have a social activity one night and during the day we will spend the morning at the gym and take the boys to swimming lessons, rugby or go to the beach.  In the late afternoon we or you may take the boys to the park or beach before dinner, bath, some tv time then bed. They will get up before the rest of the house but will play until we get up.  Both Mike and I love to cook so most meals will be home cooked and we have take out once a week.  We both share chores and we do have a cleaner who comes in once a week.  We welcome you to cook family meals if you want.

Mike is English and I am American/Australian.  We have both lived here for 16 years.  My mom’s side of the family lives here so we have a lot of extended family.  We both have travelled extensively and we have experienced many cultures.

We live in a 4 bedroom house with a self contained cottage out the back which we use when we have guests stay.  You have your own bedroom with tv and bathroom as well as wifi.  The house is on a cul-de-sac right around the corner of Queens Park and Centennial Park.  5 minutes drive to Clovelly and Bronte Beach and 15 minutes into downtown Sydney.  There is also close bus access to Bondi Junction for train access.  You will also have your own car while here to use to take the kids places and for your own personal use.

The main duties are picking up to school or activities, on occasion dropping off, making lunch and dinner, playing, bathing, laundry, bed making, tidy their room and playroom, some homework, putting to sleep. Babysitiing 1-2 nights a week. We are flexible and we have a week by week schedule of times and needs.  You to be responsible for your own laundry, clean up after your own meals/mess. In general, we expect everyone to pitch in. We may go on a holiday during your time with us and may want you to travel with us.  In terms of household rules, we don’t expect to abide by a nighttime curfew and can have friends over in the house as long as this doesn’t not effect your work the next morning and you are safe.  We believe in freedom so you must be responsible and take your job seriously.

We have had Au Pairs for almost 6 years now and have had a wonderful experience.  It has been very rewarding for us and for them.  We see them as part of our family, they eat and sometimes hangs out with us but also have made friends so they have an active social life.  We want someone who is fun, creative, sporty, social, caring, open and ultimately blend right into our family.  It is imperative that you love children especially boys  and will get down to their level and make them happy which in returns makes the family happy.

Start Date: March 2105

$200 / week - 20hours ($10/hour extra hours)

Dear future Au Pair ,

Hi and welcome to the Tkachenko family. Our family consists of my husband Motty , myself , our eldest son Nate who is 3 and 1/2 , and Gabi who is 14 months old. Some  photos  are attached.

Both the boys are happy cuddly boys. Nate loves to dance, to do puzzles, draw and run around with his friends. Gabi is quite strong willed , has just started walking and saying a few words. He is very friendly and loves a hug !

We also have two dogs, Jasper , a shitsu Maltese and Oscar a Pomeranian cross jack russell . They are very affectionate , especially Oscar.  They go to work with my husband most days!

We live a happy uncomplicated life . We are lucky to live in the sunshine so we love to hang out as a family , go to the park, walks etc. We try to eat as a family each night and spend as much "quality time" together as possible . We are fairly sociable so see friends and entertain pretty regularly.

Our home is in Bondi , Sydney - an amazing location. We are 15 minutes walk from the famous Bondi beach and very close to Bondi junction which has a great shopping center and numerous transport links to the city which is close by. We live in an area full of young families and there are many au pairs living nearby .

We have recently  moved to our house and we have four bedrooms , two bathrooms and a little garden. You will have your own bedroom with a TV , wireless and you will share a bathroom.   We are planning to do some renovations to the house in the period when you would be staying with us, so we would need you to be flexible with regard to this happening.

I work for myself on a part time basis but am often at home in the days , Motty has his own business . Nate will start preschool this month , usually 5 days a week and Gabi will start kindy 2 or 3 days a week .

I am hoping you would be an extra 'pair of hands' for me , especially at the crazy times of day - mornings , (breakfasts , getting dressed, making nate's packed lunch etc ) and in the evenings for dinner , bath and bed. I would like you to do light housework , dusting , some cleaning and tasks such as folding laundry and putting it away . It would be great if you were happy to make easy kids dinners sometimes such as eggs or pasta.

I would like you to work usually for 4/5 hours each weekday and you will usually have your weekends free . Sometimes I might ask you if you could be flexible and do some extra hours either during the week , the weekend or babysit in an evening.

I am thinking this would be usually  25-30 hours a week. We would pay you $150-200 , (depending on the hours you work ) each week as pocket money... (obviously more if you do additional hours) and of course your food!

I am looking for an au pair to be part of our family - someone who is happy , genuinely loves kids, who is responsible, mature and pro active. I would only like a non smoker . We are fairly relaxed and want you to have a fun and exciting time here in Sydney but would also ask that you respect the fact that you are living in our family, and we , of course will respect you.

We have just had one  au pair before and we have had a great experience.  My mum has an au pair agency in London , where I am from and I grew up with au pairs in our home. As I mentioned, I am english and understand the challenges of living away from home so I will definitely be aware of what a big adventure you are setting out on being in Australia and we would love you to feel that you can be part of our family. I want your family to know that we will look after you as I would hope someone would look after my child if they were on the other side of the world to them.

Best wishes,

Nicki & family

Hi Guys!

We are a fun and loving family looking for an au pair to join our family and take care of our four children and be a part of our lives.

We are a big family that enjoys doing lots of activities together.  And can’t wait to welcome you.

Our boys – Max, aged 9, Will aged 8, Tommy aged 6 – love to play soccer and karate, and are good swimmers, participating in junior life saving on the weekends at our local beach (10 minute drive away).  Our daughter – Ruby aged 3, tries to keep up with her brothers also enjoying soccer, but is often seen doing ballerina twirls in the house!  She too is a proficient swimmer and enjoys accompanying her brothers to the beach.

Ed and I are easy going, fun and loving parents who are super organised.  That is the key to survival with four children.  We are both completely hands on with our children and we currently share the household duties from cooking to washing to cleaning.

We are looking for an energetic person to join our family and the fun.   Someone who will love our children and treat them with respect and kindness as well as be strict when required.

Duties will include pick ups from schools, going to activities (swimming, soccer, ballet, music lessons), cooking simple dinners for the children, helping with the children’s washing, light housework, and playing and laughing a lot!

We live close to the primary school (approx. 200 metres away) that our three boys attend, as well as the preschool that Ruby goes to.  Both walking distance, which is really convenient.

Our au pair must be able to drive to get the children to their activities throughout the week.

We live close to public transport, shops, restaurants and bars.  We are only 10 minutes from the city of Sydney – such a beautiful city.  We can’t wait to meet you.

We need an au pair now as Steph is going back to work full time starting in March 2015.  Steph is half Greek and Ed is from England.

We live in a lovely 4 bedroom 2 storey house in Randwick where you will have your own room and bathroom and there is a heated pool.

Mum is a physiotherapist who is going to be on maternity leave and dad is a doctor who works variable but often long hours.

Jobs will include getting the girls ready in the morning (daycare 2days per week), occasional school drop offs, light house hold chores like getting kids dinners (we have a weekly cleaner for the rest of the house) and helping with the evening routine pre-bed. 6-12month role  - 30 hours per week - $350

2 boys (3 + 8yrs)

Collaroy - Sydney

Hi Au Pairs!

We have two boys (Haydn 8 and Ethan 3). We have recently moved to the Northern Beaches of Sydney and live in the beachside suburb of Collaroy. We have a lovely home with nice views of the beach that are wonderful to wake up to, a beautiful pool and more room than we know what to do with.

We are a professional couple - Chantal works as a consultant and Corey is an IT executive as well as a meditation teacher. Chantal’s mother also lives with us on one of the three floors.

Fundamentally, we are looking for a caring and loving Au-Pair to stay with us to look after one or both boys for about 30 hours per week (mostly Mon-Fri) for $350. This will largely be during the day until we get back from work, but there may be some times that we agree on some baby sitting in the evenings. You will be welcome as part of the family. We will welcome you to spend time with us when we do family outings (if you choose) and would be happy to help you explore Sydney.

We would ask you to look after the boys needs and undertake some light house work related to their needs (e.g. kids laundry, preparing meals and help with feeding, washing, helping them keep tidy etc.)

Admittedly we are somewhat biased, but our boys are beautiful and easy to look after. We are looking for someone exceptional with a genuine zest for life and passion for children….someone to nurture and inspire them with a range of fun, active and educational activities.

You will have your own bedroom, a bathroom share with kids, Wi-Fi internet access, and all meals.

You must be able to swim and be a non-smoker and it is essential that you have a full clean drivers licence.

Please let us know if this chimes with you…

Kind Regards,

Chantal & Corey

Hi Au Pairs!

Craig (Dad), Joann (Mum), Jack (6) and Amber (3.5), along with their dog Bindi are a fun family who love to laugh, spend time outdoors and be social and we look forward to meeting you!

Craig works 5 days per week and Joann is currently on sabbatical and will be returning to work in the next month or so.

Jack is a lively, happy, loving and affectionate boy who also has some special needs. He has well-controlled epilepsy and has been diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum. He is quite bright, has an incredible love of life and is very excitable. He started Kindergarten this year.

Amber will be 4 in August. She is equally a lively, happy, loving and affectionate girl. She loves to play and be engaged but can also play quite independently. She attends long daycare Monday - Wednesday. She is currently doing dancing, swimming and tennis lessons and loves being a part of anything.

Jack and Amber play very nicely together a lot of the time. Like any siblings they have their moments, however they genuinely care for and adore each other. They love jumping on the trampoline, doing craft and building lego together.

Bindi is our 12 month old groodle puppy. She's a cross between a miniature poodle and golden retriever and is a medium size dog. She has a truly lovely personality and is very patient with the kids. She enjoys going for a walk and loves being let off the leash in the park behind us to have a run around. She is inside a lot but doesn’t shed at all and is groomed regularly.

Our backyard and dedicated play room provide all the outdoor and indoor entertainment the kids could need. They still do love going to the park of course!

We are looking for someone to become part of the kids' lives and provide some strong stability at times that Craig and Joann can't be there for them.

We're after a responsible person with a great mix of energy and fun combined with calmness and patience. The role could suit someone who's studying as we are looking for someone who can do more hours during school holidays (which coincide with Uni holidays) and less hours during school term.

The hours of work will vary from 20-40 hours per week, depending on the week. Most, if not all, weekend time will be free for you to explore Sydney and further afield. We are flexible and will be able to plan together the best structure for working out hours together.

Clean drivers license is essential, along with police check, working with children clearance and references. Pocket money is $300-350 per week.

Facilities for you include:

Own room (queen bed with built-ins and a balcony); primary use of main bathroom; rumpus room upstairs with TV, DVD player & large balcony with views to the city; all meals; access to car, as required; and, wifi.

We have had an au pair before and know we’ll be able to help you feel welcome in our home. Craig and Joann also both lived overseas when we were at University/College and understand the challenges of living away from home.

We look forward to meeting you!!

Family - 201603/04 - Balgowlah, NSW
***Role Filled***

Starting:                 April 2016

Finish:                    3 months+

Hours / pay:         30 hours - $300/week

Hi Au Pairs!

We are a family of five who live in Balgowlah just over the Spit Bridge which is very close (about 3km) from Manly Beach. The area has great walking access to shops, public transport to access the beach and the city.

We have 3 beautiful girls who are all at school – Isabella 11, Gemma 8 and Lucinda 6. They are busy, wonderful kids who would love to have a ‘big’ sister to look up to, teach them how to cook, help do their hair and just have fun with. Their activities and interests include swimming, drama, ballet/jazz, netball, tennis, cooking and anything arty/girly!

Tim (dad) has recently started working interstate during the week so we are looking for someone to help during those morning and evening weekday hours. Tamara (mum) works during the summer months in the pool teaching young kids survival swimming which is a private lesson – the lessons for this only run about 2 hours during the day.

Our au-pair would work on average 30 hours a week for $300 during the morning and afternoon/ evenings pending on the kids after school schedule. Tim/Tamara would look to include a weekly date night on either Friday, Saturday night or Sunday afternoon as part of this 30 hour week. We will pay extra beyond this time. Outside of these hours the au pair is free to do what they like. They could get a job in a local café or restaurant or daytime babysitting for extra money if desired. I work and have friends in the area that may like help with daytime babysitting or help around the house if you are interested in more hours/work.

Our weekends are very busy with kids sport etc and is considered our precious family time (due to the fact that dad travels so much) so outside any pre arranged babysitting dates/times the weekends will also be free time.

Duties include:-

Helping with getting kids ready for school in the mornings, making lunches, bags packed. Helping in the afternoons with evening routine of homework, getting ready for bed. Every afternoon is busy and different. There may be days with dropping and picking kids up from school.

Driving is not essential but a positive. - Cooking/preparing kids (+ mum) dinners so being a healthy but simple cook is a requirement. Clearing away meals, stacking/unstacking dishwasher, keeping the kitchen and upstairs living area clean. - Other household ‘stuff’ like washing, drying and putting away clothes. General daily tidy up (quick vacuum), clean up of kids bathroom, making sure kids have cleaned up mess etc. We have a cleaner to do the ‘heavy lifting’.

The au pair will have their own separate bedroom and bathroom with Kitchenette (fridge, dishwasher), TV and wifi on the bottom level of the house. This bottom floor is quite separate and is only used by Tim or family for TV on the weekends at during afternoon/nights or in summer when we are using the pool area. We are an energetic, busy family who likes to have fun.

We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into our home.

Demi Au Pair Role
***Role Filled***
Hi,

We are a young family looking for an extra set of hands! Someone with lots of energy to play with the kids when we cant and do general tidying (hang washing, kitchen and toys), someone who is caring, has prior experience looking after small children, and someone who can enjoy a joke (our 4 year old like to “make jokes”). At this stage driving is not essential but beneficial.

We have two boys – Charlie who is 4, very interested in the world around him, a bit of a chatterbox and very active but also very sweet; and Angus who is 18 months and has a lovely placid nature.

We are a fairly laid back couple who has enjoyed travelling the world and living in the UK prior to having kids. My husband works long hours in the city and I am currently a stay at home mum, considering my back to work options.

We are currently looking for a demi pair to do a couple of hours on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in which you would be working alongside myself playing with the kids, doing kitchen / toy tidying, helping with bath time, and folding washing and then either two half days on a Thursday and Friday, or one whole day, in which I would expect to be able to leave the kids with you while I go out to run errands. If I have jobs to get on with at home, I will expect our au pair to take the kids to the park or play outside with them. As it is a demi pair role, it would be 15 hours a week in return for food and board, and additional babysitting (mutually agreed upon) would be at $12 an hour.

You would have your own bedroom and bathroom, which is on a separate level to the rest of the family, in a recently renovated attic (although it is not small), which also has a separate TV /lounge / toy room and build in desk. You would also have access to our wi-fi.

We officially live in Chatswood (Sydney) but we are a 5 minute walk to the Willoughby High street shops which has a newsagent, bakery, good coffee shops, and good grocery stores. We are also a 5 minute walk to the express bus into Sydney city which takes 10 minutes, and also just 5 mins drive or 15 min walk to Chatswood chase and Westfield shopping centres which provide usual mall type retail shopping. There are buses from here to Bondi beach and Balmoral. We live in a very family friendly neighbourhood with loads of kids.

We look forward to hearing from you and hope to meet you soon!

We are a fun, easy going relaxed family with very busy schedules. Both Jason and myself work in media and often have busy days to deal with. Renee is about to return to the workforce in a full time position and so needs someone to replace her at home. Jason is an advertising executive, works full time and often travels for business.

Our number one concern is finding someone lovely to help care for our beautiful kids!

Leo is a little ball of energy, great company! And Lukey is just a sweet little boy finding his way in the world - he loves lots of cuddles.

In our downtime we love to go to the beach, catch up on the latest movies, theatre, music… and enjoy hanging out with our friends over a glass of wine.

We have had two Au Pair’s live with us before, so we have experience with the AuPair process and we absolutely adore having someone extra in our family. Is that you?

Please get in touch if you’d like to come and meet us and the children.

Oh - and you must love cats! We have two gorgeous furry members of our family who also love cuddles.. and a few fish to keep everyone balanced and calm ;)

Welcome to beautiful Clareville!

We are a fun loving, busy family of four. We have two little boys – Xavier who is 2.5 years and Nathaniel (Nate) who is 10 months. Xavier goes to day care 3 days a week and is extremely smart, independent, fun-loving, cheeky and loves to learn. Nate is a delicious little bub who is desperately trying to walk and keep up with his adored older brother. He has the perfect, placid temperament, is very affectionate and loves to be praised. Nate goes to family day care 1-2 days a week which he is really enjoying.

We have been living in the Pittwater area for four years and are in the middle of a major house renovation. Julian is a general practitioner in nearby Newport and Catherine sold her retail pharmacy on the upper North Shore 11 months ago to concentrate on the family and the build. We are renting the house across the road so don’t worry, you will not have to endure living with the noise, dust and builders!

We would love for you to join us if you adore mischievous little boys, like being around the water and generally outdoors, are organised, have a bit of confidence and initiative, don’t mind a bit of light household duties and are happy to go with the flow with the madness of renovating. We are planning to move back into our beautiful new home in June so will need some help with packing/unpacking then too.

Your accommodation at both houses is second to none. The rental is on gorgeous Clareville beach and you have direct access to the water. We have a stand-up paddle board that you can use whenever you like, it’s really beautiful to go out in the morning at first light. You have your own floor with ensuite, wifi, TV and we will give you a bicycle that you can ride in to Avalon Village in your time off. Your room overlooks a beautifully maintained garden and has water views.

The new house is also stunning with separate accommodation and ensuite. Again, you will pretty much have the whole floor to yourself!

We look forward to meeting you soon and can’t wait for you to enjoy our fantastic lifestyle up on the beautiful Northern Beaches.

Hello, we are a young Australian family living in Sydney's inner north. We have a 4 1/2 year old girl, a 2 year old boy and we are just about to have a newborn. The eldest goes to school 3 days and the middle 2 days a week. We are looking for a kind, fun, energetic and patient au pair who would like to discover Sydney and its beautiful lifestyle, and be very happy looking after young children.

We live in a house close to Sydney CBD in Neutral Bay, we are a 2 minute walk to the closet bus station, a 7 minutes to the closest train station and a 30 minute walk over the harbour bridge to the city. We are a relaxed, fun loving family but we are about to have a newborn baby join the house and want to make sure that the other children’s needs are met. The children are happy and healthy and love craft, spending time outdoors and using their imaginations. The au pair would have a nice private bedroom and bathroom which is separate to the main house.

We are an English speaking family and, while we would love to consider someone who is bilingual, a strong knowledge of the English language is required.

We would like you to mainly look after our two eldest children while I am with the newborn. Getting ready in the mornings, drop off and pick up, making lunches, feeding children and playing with children when they are not at school. We would love someone that loves imaginative and outdoor play. There may be light housework associated with the children such as making children beds and cleaning up after kids. We require someone that has a drivers license, first aid and must have experience and love caring for young children.

We would prefer that the au pair feels comfortable about driving on the left side of the road as we will need you to pick up our children from school or take them to nearby activities.

We will have a strictly non smoking policy anywhere in or around the house including garden.

We are searching for a fun, responsible and organised live-in nanny. We prefer someone that can stay at least a year, but will consider a stay of 6 months minimum. Our current nanny has been with us for 2 years and is sadly leaving us to live with her partner in the UK.

We are an Australian\American couple with a girl named Evelyn (4 yo), a boy Harrison (3 yo) and a pet Tibetan spaniel named Freddy. Both children are very cheeky but very sweet natured.  They love to have a laugh and a play. They have such a zest for life and their innocence is always very funny and endearing.  You will never be bored living with us!

We live in a lovely house in Chatswood, which is a very convenient suburb.  It has two of Sydney's major shopping malls as well as gyms, movie cinemas and great restaurants. It is also a transport hub making it possible to get to just about anywhere in Sydney.

You would have your own nicely furnished bedroom and private bathroom. The position includes full room and board, unlimited internet access and a monthly phone allowance. You will have private access to the family car if needed. Also, each 6 months you spend with us, you will get 1 week paid holiday.

Our children Evelyn and Harrison are very socially active children.  Evelyn attends tutoring, ballet and swimming and Harrison attends tutoring and Little Kickers.  There is a local playgroup, a National Park (10 minute drive) where the kids love to feed ducks and "look at nature" as Evelyn would say. There are many other parks, beaches and activities nearby. The kids love being outdoors.  We allow for a $35/week allowance to spend on kids activities.  This includes but is not limited to lunches out, coffees dates (baby cino for the kids) or outings to the museum. We also have an annual pass to Taronga Zoo that can be used.  Both children will be attending preschool this term on Monday and Tuesdays from 9-3pm.  We will be looking to extend 1 more day of preschool when there is availability.

Your duties will include:

1. Looking after the kids Monday to Friday during set hours and two nights per month (weekends are totally free to do as you please).
2. You must be able to drive as we require drop offs/pick ups from the train station each day. You will also need to do school drop off and pickups and drive the children to their weekly activities.

3. Preparing kids healthy meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner)

4. Kids laundry
5. General tidying up of kids toys/bedrooms/clothes and common areas (we have a cleaner who comes weekly so there is no extra cleaning required above the general tidying)
7. Keeping your own room tidy and washing your own linen

We are looking for someone to start on April 20th as our current nanny will be leaving us April 25th. The weekly allowance will be $250-$300, depending on level of experience. As our au pair, we will always do our best to include you in our family activities and outings.  If you are interested in being a part of our family, please get in touch.

Hi there,

We are an Irish family of 4 living in Matraville, Sydney, looking for a fun loving, energetic, reliable Au Pair to help look after our little boy Michael, 5 and our very little girl Ava who is only 5 months old.

My husband, Nigel, works in Queensland, 2 weeks on and 1 week off. I’m currently on maternity leave and hope to return to work in June working Mon/Tues/Wed each week. On these days I would require someone to help get the kids ready in the morning and possibly drop them off to daycare and school and then to pick Michael up after school, bring him to certain activities, help with homework, bathing, dinner etc. I would also require some help on the days I’m home, especially in the evenings and at the weekends. Helping around the house is also necessary including packing up toys (with the kids), cleaning up after meals, loading/unloading dishwasher etc. The majority of each of your days would be free to carry out your own studies and fewer duties would be required the week Nigel is home.

Michael is an extremely energetic, social and kind young boy who would very much like you to get involved in his games. Ava is still developing her own little personality and loves interaction, so would love someone who likes to interact with her and in return Ava promises to laugh and chuckle.

We are a very easy going and loving family. We will depend on you very much Mon/Tues/Weds but quite flexible on the other days. You will have your own room with internet access and access to a car to do drop offs etc. or your own errands.

I am looking for someone who doesn’t mind a bit of house work, can cook a bit and a drivers licence is essential for school pick ups.

As a family we are pretty active, on weekends we go to the beach if we can, we always have an adventure day where we do something new and exciting.  We hope to find an au pair who likes the idea of exploring and laughing with us. Our au pair would have to LOVE kids!!! We are very social and always have friends stop by to surprise us and say hello.

Your role would include some daily cleaning, laundry and cooking for the girls the days I am at work. School pick ups Monday-Thursday.  And you would be watching Rose on Thursdays.  Friday is my day off but I do need a few hours (anytime of day) to get extra work and errands done.  Your weekends would mainly be free, apart for some planned ahead extra babysitting for me when it works for you. Id be more than happy to share our car as we don’t use it much on the weekends.  You would have a fully furnished room with Wi-Fi and share a bathroom. And again you’d be part of our family so what is ours is yours!

We live in Rose Bay 1 block from the ferry and the bus stop to Bondi Beach and the City is at the top of our street. An array of shops restaurants and cafes, parks & beaches are at our door step.  I also have access to various hospitality jobs at some of the trendiest places in Sydney and have a circle of moms who would love extra baby sitting if that’s something you’d want to do for extra money.

We are looking for at least 6 months but would love you to stay longer if you are the perfect fit! If this sounds like you we can’t wait to hear from you.

Love from the 3 of us x

Hello!

Our family is; James (Dad), Claire (Mum) Rafe (our eldest boy who is 6 in August) and Wolfie (4).

We are looking for someone to join our family as an au pair for the next 12 months. We have a wonderful au pair from South Korea who will sadly leave us in August to return to University. We have loved every moment of having Alice as part of our family - we will miss her very much.

The job: My husband James works 5 days a week and I currently work 5 days a week (7:30-5) During this time you would be responsible for the sole care of our two boys Rafe (age 5 years) and Wolfie (4 years).

Rafe is at kindergarten 5 days a week; you will be responsible for taking him to school in the mornings ( and picking him up from school). Three days a week Wolfie goes to preschool too. On Thursday and Friday Wolfie will be at home with you all day. During the holidays both boys will be at home.

The boys love to be outdoors, they are very active. During the day we usually visit the park twice and do some art and craft. We also like to go to swimming lessons and to the library for Storytime and to borrow books and play. The boys love reading and being read to and playing trains and lego are their favourite games!

You would be expected to prepare the boys meals; and clean up after their meal times. Your duties would revolve around childrens activities; making sure areas are clean and toys tidied away by the end of the day. When we are at home we like to relax in the garden with the kids and we like to go out to the beach on weekends. We are very lucky - we live 5-10  minutes (drive) away from wonderful Sydney beaches (Bondi, Bronte, Clovelly, Tamarama).

We are a family of 4 that is about to become 5 and are looking for a like minded person to come in and become a part of our family.

Our eldest son, Levi, who will be 4 in May is very active boy with a fun loving personality.  He likes building, playing and listening to music and especially likes mealtimes.  He is a very happy boy who loves being a part of everything we do as a family.  He spends Mon-Fri in preschool starting at 8am and finishing anywhere between 4-5pm and a bit earlier on Friday.

Levi's younger brother Nathan will be 21 months when no.3 arrives and when we would love you to join us.  Currently he is learning to stand and loves his walker - with walking unassisted his next step. He is very curious about the world and wants to understand what everything is. He is also quite active, very happy and like his brother shares a love of music and learning - he especially likes to put things together and can often be found following his brother around who he adores.  Nathan currently attends daycare 3 days a week.

We can tell you more about no. 3 when you decide to join us.

Sharon (mum), is currently working part time (3 days/week) for a large health insurance company (bupa), but will be on maternity leave when no. 3 arrives. She enjoys being active (attends the gym 3 times a week and walks regularly), is easy going and enjoys spending time with her boys and family and friends. She is relaxed but likes to be involved and consulted and is very much a planner / organiser.

Raphael (dad), works full time for a large telecommunications company (telstra).  He is active (trains twice a week) is laid back but also likes being involved and consulted.  He loves coming home to his family each evening and ensures he is home early enough to see both boys and put his eldest to bed. He likes being able to relax at night and have some time out after a busy day.

We live in beautiful Bondi, with shops and local transport at the top of the street (buses leave every few minutes and it takes approx 20-30 mins to get to the city).  There are 3 beautiful beaches (Bondi, Tamarama and Bronte) all within a short 10 minute stroll.  There are also local parks, the famous bondi to bronte coastal walk, and pretty much everything you need only minutes away.  And if it's not, you'll definitely find it in bondi junction (satellite city with large shopping malls) only 10 mins away by bus. There are also a language schools there to choose from.

We live in a semi detached house, with 5 bedrooms (3 upstairs) and 4 bathrooms.  You will have your own room + en-suite downstairs.

We live busy lives and have given you an example of 3 typical days during the week, the first when Nathan is at daycare (Mon-Wed), the second when he is not (Thurs/Fri) and a typical day on the weekend.

Pocket Money - $280 (tbd) and depending on hours and experience

Accommodation - own king size room with en-suite bathroom (bath + shower).

Extras - wifi, tv

Our home is a special place that we love coming home to every day and that we love sharing with our family and friends.  We are looking forward to meeting and inviting into our home a similarly likeminded person who shares our family values and is happy to share our way of life.

Family - 201504/12, Bellevue Hill, NSW

Starting - October and would love a 6 month committment
Drivers License desirable

30 hours per week - $250/week ($10/hr thereafter)

A fun family of 5 living in Bellevue Hill need an energetic and kind hearted Au Pair to join our family. We have a gorgeous 8 month old little girl called Amiella, a big sister called Charlize who is 4 and a big bro Isaac who is nearly 6. We also have 2 very friendly small dogs called nugget and tiger.

We live in a huge 5 bedroom house, with 4 bathrooms a swimming pool and large back yard. We spend a lot of time at home on weekends but during the week its quiet as Isaac is at school and Charlize is at preschool Monday-Friday. We respect privacy and  you will have your own private entrance with your own queen size bed, built in wardrobe, kitchenette and bathroom.

I don’t work but sometimes need to run errands and just need an extra set of hands for those busy afternoons and sometimes on weekends (if my husband is working). There will be very minimal morning work however we will also need babysitting on Friday and Saturday nights. The hours are around 30 per week but of course we can be flexible! We ask that you are also a bit flexible as my husband does shift work so I might need a few extra hours here or there.  We are in a beautiful suburb which is very central and only a 15 minutes’ walk to Bondi Beach and 15 minutes’ walk to Westfield Bondi Junction!

Au Pairs must have experience working with babies and have a passion for kids. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys playing games with children as we do not allow TV or digital games during the week. Our schedule is also very busy with extra-curricular activities so someone with a driver’s license would be ideal. We would love a very energetic, reliable and caring big sister for our family. We are very inclusive and also respect your time off and we would love for you to join us as soon as possible!

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Dear future au pair,

Our family consists of my husband David, myself, our son Ashton who is about to turn two and soon after you arrive in Sydney we will be welcoming another baby boy to our family, as I am pregnant.  Our photo is attached.

Ashton is a happy and energetic little boy. He has a cheeky personality and loves everything to do with cars, buses and trains. A typical boy! He has recently started trying to speak and by the time you get here should be talking a lot more.

David runs his own recruitment business in the City. He enjoys watching and playing soccer, and moved to Sydney nearly 10 years ago from the UK. He enjoys socialising, visiting cafes and going out for breakfasts near the beach.

Before I had Ashton I worked as an Interior Designer. Now I work part time in a design showroom. By the time you arrive I plan to take a year off to look after our newborn baby. My family takes up a lot of my time these days however I love keeping fit and going to the gym. I grew up in Sydney and most of my family lives close by.

We live a happy uncomplicated life. We are lucky to live in the sunshine so we love to hang out as a family, go to the park (one of which is 1 house away from our front door), walks etc. Our home is in a suburb called Rose Bay which is a lovely part of Sydney.  It’s a great location.  We are 2.5 kilometers from the famous Bondi Beach and a 10 minute bus ride to Bondi Junction which has a great shopping center and numerous transport links to the city which is also close by. Additionally we are a 20 minute walk away from the ferry terminal which takes you to the City, past the Opera House in under 20 minutes.

We live in an area full of young families and there are many au pairs living nearby. Our home has four bedrooms, a playroom for the kids, two bathrooms and a little garden. You will have your own good sized bedroom with a TV, wireless and your own ensuite bathroom.

Ashton goes to daycare/kindergarten three days a week and I will be at home with our new born during the day when he arrives. I am hoping you would be an extra 'pair of hands' for me, especially at the crazy times of day - mornings, breakfasts, getting dressed etc and in the evenings for dinner, bath and bed. I would like you to do light housework, dusting, some cleaning and tasks such as folding laundry and putting it away. It would be great if you were happy to make easy kids dinners sometimes. I would like you to work five days a week, Monday to Friday and be willing to babysit 2 Saturday nights a month. Occasionally, if you are available we may ask you to do some additional hours for which we would of course pay you extra. I am thinking this would be approximately 25-30 hours a week.  We would pay you $200-240 (depending on agreed hours) a week pocket money and of course your food! Additionally we would contribute $20 a week towards your mobile telephone bill.

We are looking for an au pair to be part of our family - someone who is happy, loves kids, who is responsible, mature and proactive. We would only consider a non smoker and someone that takes pride in their work and their home.

We want you to have a fun and exciting time here in Sydney but would also ask that you respect the fact that you are living in our family. We would ask that you do not bring visitors back to the house without checking with us first.

We should add that we are Jewish. Whilst we are not observant we do keep certain dietary laws in the home. We would ask you not to bring pork or shellfish into the house. We do eat meat but we buy kosher meat.

We have never had an au pair before but David’s mum has an au pair agency in London, where David is from. He also grew up with au pairs in his home.  David is originally from England and understands the challenges of living away from home. Likewise I have lived overseas in Canada when I was younger so we are definitely aware of what a big adventure you are setting out on being in Australia and we would love you to feel that you can be part of our family.

I want your family to know that we will look after you as I would hope someone would look after my child if they were on the other side of the world to them.

Best wishes,

Jo

We are a laid back couple with two lovely children; Isabella, 7 and Jack, 4. Our neighbourhood is full of other young families ‘and we are walking distance to shops for to buy fruit and vegetables, bread and butcher. We are a 5 minute drive to the large shopping precinct of Chatswood. This is very convenient for clothes shopping and the rail line. Most importantly for kids, we are walking distance to lots of parks.

We generally get home around 5:30-6 so you will have to prepare simple meals for the boys dinner and supervise dinner until we get home.

Light housework is involved such as hanging out washing and cleaning up after the boys.

We have had wonderful Au pairs in the past and have found that it really works well for both of us. I'm sure our current Au pair would be happy to answer any questions you have.

We live in Bronte Beach, on the Tamarama side so were a short walk to Bronte, Tamarama and Bondi Beaches.  There’s a bus stop at our front door. You will have your own room at the front of the house.  We would love you to have a great experience in Australia, living near Bondi Beach and if you wish, meeting other Au pairs in the area. We do travel as a family and always give you advance notice so you can plan holidays yourself at this time.  Were keen to try to help you see as much of Australia while you are working with us and although we have hectic lifestyles we have managed to make this work for our past Au Pairs.

We are looking for a start no later than the first week of August. This way we can have an overlap with our out-going Au pair so that you can shadow her for a week or two and get an idea of how things work.

We pay $300 per week for 40 hours. We do like to go out occasionally and will always ask if some weekend babysitting is ok depending on your plans. Generally you will work 40-45 hours per week and will be paid extra if you go over 40. We do require a minimum 6 month commitment, and would like someone to stay as long as possible.

We look forward to meeting you!

***Role Filled***

Starting - Role available now!
25-30 hours - $250- $300/week

Dear Au Pairs,

We are a happy, loving, and busy family living at Bronte Beach, just south of Bondi Beach.  We have 4 kids - 1 boy named Ted (8 in October), and 3 girls named Eloise (6), Evie (4), and Clementine (3 in September).  We are looking for an au pair to join our family for 6 months or more, living in a fantastic self contained flat separate to our house (on top of our garage) which will give you privacy and comfort.   Gerard and Sophie work full time, which means we are usually leaving for work just after 7 am and not returning till 7pm.  We have a Full time Nanny named Kerry who has been with us for 6 years, and she is generally in charge of the kids during the daytime.  We also have 2 baby guinea pigs named Brownie and Zeddie, who are important members of our family!  We have a great back garden, and are 5 minutes walk from Bronte Beach.  We have amazing restaurants, parks and cafes all within walking distance of our family home.

The key outline of the role is as follows:

- 25/30 hours of weekly care for the kids, which will involve mornings Mon-Fri, afternoons Mon-Fri, generally with the daytime free (when our nanny arrives).  This might also involve a full day with the younger kids when they are not at daycare (probably later in the week) depending on availability.  Occasionally on weekends, we might ask you to babysit while we go out for dinner.

- in return for 25/30 hours per week, we would give you $250-300 per week in pocket money.

- your job would be to get the kids fed, dressed and ready in the mornings, and then delivered to school/ daycare. Depending on our Nanny's schedule, some afternoons you would be picking them up from school and day care too.  In the evenings, you would be getting the kids bathed, helping with homework, cooking them dinner and getting them ready for bed.  School and day care are only 200 metre walks from our home, so walking is easy, and a driver's license is not essential.

- we would also like you to help keep the household clean and organised.  That will involve some laundry washing & sorting, and some light cleaning and tidying on a regular basis.  We don't want you to join our family to be a cleaner (we have a weekly cleaner who does a fantastic job), but we would like you to help us keep the house organised and functioning well!

We are looking for someone who is prepared to accept all the challenges, responsibilities and joy that comes with looking after 4 happy, independent and bold children.  A sense of fun, imagination and humour would be ideal, but you'll also need to be ready to give them the structure and discipline that all kids need to thrive.  Our kids are active and inquisitive - they love going for walks and to the beach, and they love learning and reading.  So we'd be looking for someone who is also active, and willing to help teach our kids about the world in which they live.

Why we think this is a great job:

1. You get to join a caring and loving family in one of the best beachside suburbs in Sydney!

2. You get to live in your own private flat separate from the house to provide comfort and privacy.

3. The kids' schools and daycare are short walks from home - no driving required.

4. You get lots of support in looking after the kids, from our experienced and easy-going nanny.

5. You get our support too. We'll pay you, give you free board and Wi-Fi, and we'll look after you and help you wherever and whenever you need it.

We'd love to meet with you if you think you'd like to meet our family!!

As our Au Pair you will be required to help in the morning getting the girls up, dressed, and ready as well as driving them to and from school / daycare. In addition we would need you to drive them to any scheduled afternoon activities, play dates or even just to the park for an afternoon play! Then we would need you to prepare their dinner, help with reading and homework and bath the girls before Simon and I get home to put them to bed. We also ask if you could cook for Simon and I couple of times a week, tidy up after the girls, make their beds, put away toys, and carry out some basic housekeeping (including washing) - we have a cleaner that comes once a week to do the rest :)

The hours are:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday -  6.30-9.00am and 3.00-6.30pm

Thursdays - 6.30am-3.00pm

We live in a great suburb (Roseville) close to shops, restaurants and transport either to Sydney CBD or the northern beaches. My husband (Simon) is Australian and I (Kathryn) am from New Zealand and we have previously lived in the UK for several years. We know what it is like to live in a new country and would love to welcome the right person into our family and help them enjoy and experience all the amazing things about living in Sydney Australia - all we ask is that you help us look after our two lovely girls.

We have a big house with a pool, deck and garden and you would have your own room, shared bathroom with the girls and separate living area with TV if you need to have time to yourself (including WiFi)

Your weekends are free for you to enjoy or explore Sydney but of course you are 100% included and invited to all weekend family activities if you want to join us!

Our family love being active outside including going to the beach, swimming, playing soccer and we especially enjoy our family weekend nights of sushi and dancing at home with the girls or having friends over for a BBQ.

We look forward to hearing from soon!

*** Role Filled ***

Start:               October 2015

Hours:             40 hrs per week

Rates:              $400 per week

We are a busy professional family living in a large apartment in the inner city looking for a sociable, happy, compassionate and responsible au pair to assist with the care of our two sons - Archie (4 years) and Teddy (1 year).

The person we are looking for is English speaking, capable, energetic, flexible, responsible and friendly, enjoys playing with young children, has experience with babies, and is in Sydney ready to interview and start mid-September 2015.

Our home is in Pyrmont in the inner-city of Sydney. We are a very short walk to shops, cafes, supermarket and restaurants and a short walk or bus ride to the city.

Both boys go to daycare within walking distance from our home, so pick-up and drop-off is a quick job! Archie will start school in the new year, but is currently at daycare 5 days a week. Teddy is in daycare 3 days a week - but will go 5 days when we secure availability.

Your role will be to help the boys get up, have breakfast, get dressed and take to daycare - and look after Teddy for the two days he is currently at home during the week.

Each afternoon you’ll collect the boys from daycare/school, have as much fun with them as you like - then bath them, prepare dinner and get them ready for bed. We often have work commitments in the evenings and on weekends - which varies from week to week - so we really need someone who is flexible!

The job will be 40 hours per week with extra pay for additional hours.

You will have your own room with a Queen size bed, TV, Wifi and will share a bathroom with the two boys. Our apartment complex also has a pool and gym (being renovated). If you don’t already have one, we’ll provide an Australian mobile, or we’ll provide a monthly allowance for your phone bill while you’re with us.

We’ll also give you an ‘Opal card’ so you can get around on Sydney’s public transport - we are a two minute walk from both tram and bus and about a 15 minute walk into the centre of Sydney.

We really want you to enjoy your time in Sydney and Australia, so want to ensure you’ll have plenty of time to get to know it. We do travel from time to time and may need to you come with us on a trip. There may also be times when we are both away and you will have the sole care of our two boys.

We keep a very clean house and we’re teaching our boys to help with that. We do have a twice-weekly housekeeper, but you will be responsible for your own laundry and for keeping the boys room neat and tidy - with Archie’s help…

Our current au pair has been fantastic - so our expectations are pretty high!

We would really like you to be able to commit for at least 6 months.

Work Days:

All day Monday looking after our 3 year old daughter plus dropping off and picking up the older two children from their schools and before/after school routine; Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday our daughter is in pre-school so on those days it would be drop off and pick up plus before/after school routine; plus possibly one night per week babysitting while the parents have a date night!

Our Family:

Yvette and Nick are a professional couple with 3 lovely fun children - two boys aged 10 and 8 and a 3 year old daughter. We also have an outdoor cat and small dog.  Yvette is a long distance runner in her spare time and Nick and the two boys love to surf.  We live in an area known for it’s healthy lifestyle and we are a health conscious family - but we also love chocolate!

The children are well behaved and like having fun indoors and outdoors.  We are very used to having nannies and long term carers constantly in the home with the children being very adaptable. Previous carers have now become life-long family friends.

Where we live:

Avalon is one of the most gorgeous beach suburbs on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. It is very leafy and green and is surrounded by water and headlands. Your accommodation will be in a self-contained separate one bedroom apartment which is attached to the home but with a separate, private secure entrance. Our home is a large residence with beautiful gardens and a pool. The property is 10 minutes walk from North Avalon beach (or a 4 minute bike ride or 1 minute car drive). Other fantastic beaches are also nearby. Avalon village has a vast range of health conscious cafes, book shops, boutiques and restaurants. Car and bus transport is available to both Manly and the Sydney CBD. However, if you’re looking for an inner city hive of activity - this is not the place for you. If you’re looking for a real Australian beach experience (with great food and coffee and a community of very positive people) then you will fit in very well. Lots of beaches to learn to surf as well.  There is also a large online community of au pairs living on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

What we need:
We need an au pair to take accountability for several tasks that are important for the children’s busy week including school drop offs, pick up, school lunch preparation, school uniform preparation, getting the children ready for bed and homework direction, washing and folding and meal preparation for the children plus tidying up after meals and making sure the house is generally kept tidy. The older boys are fairly self reliant (except for uniform and homework direction!) whilst the 3 year old princess will need more attention on most matters. After school activities will also be involved with the two older boys. We are a very tidy family and we require an au pair who will keep their living space clean as well. We have cleaners who come in on a fortnightly basis but we ask that you help us keep the house tidy at all other times.

You:

Non-smoker and Driver’s licence essential with a good driving record, reliable, experience with children care, honest, fun with a positive personality. We really need someone who is organised and uses initiative.  Most importantly, we need someone who genuinely loves spending time with children.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Why not spend some time relaxing on our back deck overlooking our beautiful bush back drop, have a soak in the pool of our large family home or sit by the creek at the back of our property reading a book!

We are a busy, active and social family of five. We have three small children (Zac 6, Maggie 4 and Max 2) who are full of smiles and enjoy spending time in our large backyard, walking down the road to the park, attending our local church, having friends and family over for meals and being creative.

We feel it’s important that our Au Pairs feel part of the family. We want you to feel safe and happy and enjoy your time with us. You would be invited to join in any family activities or holidays we take.

Our Family:
Paul is a busy finance executive travelling into the heart of the Sydney CBD each day by a convenient bus service (easy walk to bus and approx. 40 min trip). Paul enjoys sport, music, gym, running, wine and spending time with the family.

Katie is working as a full time secondary Visual Arts School Teacher. I enjoy seeing family and friends, cooking, art making and most of all enjoy being a wife and mother.

Zac enjoys, all sports especially soccer and T-Ball. In 2017 he is going into Year 1 at our local primary school. He loves the outdoors and enjoys time with friends and family.

Maggie enjoys all things pink and purple. She enjoys her doll house and everything art and crafty. In 2017 Maggie will be enjoying 3 days a week at Prep.

Max is our little bundle of cuddles, he is 2 and very much enjoys cars and trains. He loves to play any games and loves being outdoors. Max is home all week. He enjoys a family playgroup Monday mornings with his friends.

If you enjoy spending time with children, our kids are very social and enjoy getting to know new people. They have made beautiful friends from wonderful Au Pairs we have had over the last two years.

Duties:
We will need help running the home and looking after our children including driving our eldest two to and from school. Preparing the children’s snacks and lunches each day and simple kids meals (meat and salad).  All our children are well behaved and love meeting new people. We have a good routine and they are happy little people. They would enjoy kicking a ball, playing games or riding their bikes with you. We will also need help with house work. Cleaning the kitchen, vacuuming, sorting toys, washing, and light bathroom cleaning.

Work Hours 7am - 5pm Monday to Friday. Nights and weekends off. With food and board included and $400 - $450 (depending on experience) a week pocket money. Au pairs who work for us for a year get four weeks paid holiday leave.

We have a large generous guest bedroom with a comfortable bed, walk in wardrobe, desk and lounge, private bathroom and sitting area overlooking the bush. Full Wi-Fi available and we have a mobile phone you can use while you are with us.

We also have a car for our Au Pair to use in free time, so nights and weekends you can get about and see the sights and catch up with friends. If you would like to travel we can also accommodate extra holiday leave, without pay, during the school holidays so you can travel.

Keen to interview interested people this week to lock in details before Christmas. If the successful Au Pair would like to move in before Christmas we are happy for them to join in our large family celebrations and enjoy an Aussie Christmas. You could also join us on a family holiday down the south coast to enjoy the new year celebrations.
